Here’s what to expect from nerve pain treatment In our Dallas clinic

Goal of Treatment

The goal for nerve pain treatment at the InterX Treatment Center is to achieve maximum results in pain reduction and improved overall health and function. Treatment is cumulative and requires a minimum of 6 treatment sessions with an additional 10-14 treatments to achieve sustained results. The best results occur with two or three treatments per week initially. Then we’ll create a treatment plan based on your condition, your level of nerve pain relief, and you response to the initial treatments.

Typically, our patients respond with an increased sense of well being and ability to sleep, as well as pain reduction and increased mobility. InterX devices for the home are available for patients to self-treat, under the direction of the therapist.

What to expect during treatment

Application

InterX non-invasive interactive neurostimulation (NIN) is delivered to the skin or scalp without gels or medication. The sensation of the stimulation resembles a comfortable tingling or vibration. Your therapist will adjust the intensity of the stimulation as needed throughout the treatment. The InterX device impulses stimulate the nerves in the skin or scalp, activating the body’s natural pain relieving mechanisms, releasing endorphins which promote natural pain relief and healing

Effects

After treatment, patients feel relaxed and may feel an immediate reduction of pain, though sometimes pain reduction occurs an hour after treatment. In other instances, changes occur up to 72 hours after treatment. Some patients initially report a one- to two-hour reduction of pain. Subsequent treatments result in longer lasting pain reduction. At the completion of the treatment plan, patients typically have minimal to no pain. We often recommend a minimal home treatment maintainance plan for added, prolonged benefit.

Education

Your therapist will provide the necessary education on your condition including exercise/stretching, positioning, biomechanics of the body, and the InterX theory and principles of treatment as indicated.

Your Role in Treatment

After your initial consultation, the therapist will establish the plan of care and determine the approximate amount of visits necessary. In order to get the most out of your treatment and therapy, please follow the plan of care and recommendations to enjoy the greatest nerve pain relief.
